Whats New
Welcome to the first of many roundups!
First -> my "self host ghost and only use that" plan didn't go to plan. I moved my portfolio to Framer and moved this blog to the a Ghost managed plan. tl;dr:—I stand by what I said in my original post, but I don't have the technical prowess to handle all the issues that popped up.
Anyway, I've been on leave and now I'm actively seeking Product Design roles. You can read more about that here.. Over the past few weeks I've updated my portfolio and slowly defining a personal brand (more on that later).
In other creative news, I got to design a shirt for a band! Been a while since I could say that.
Paradise Day is playing No Rest Fest and wanted to print their own shirts. I met them all through shows (specifically The Armed) and we became fast friends. Sometime after hanging out in Detroit, Jezzy mentioned wanting a shirt inspired by those "Have a nice day" grocery store bags. We played around with the lettering a bit, but kept coming back to the first, slightly imperfect design. They got the screen back yesterday and I cannot wait to see how the shirts come out.

Don't mean to bury the lede on this, but I'm also very excited that Zohran Mamdami was elected Mayor. I don't live in the city anymore, but I volunteered for his 2020 campaign and I'm immensely proud. He fought hard for my neighbors and I can't wait to see what he accomplishes. Look at where community and hope can get us.

What I'm Listening To
- Lankum - Ghost Town - A spooky eight minute rendition of The Specials classic? Yes. Please.
- Mogwai - Cody - A sad and really pretty song.
- Felipe Vaqueiro & Sophia Chablau - Quantos serão no final? - this song makes me go 💃 🤸♂️ 😈
- Nakibemebe Embaire Group & Naoyuki Uchida-Phantom Keys - The description sold me "Nakibembe are the last custodians of the embaíre, a colossal log xylophone sunk into the earth and played communally by eight musicians, producing a hypnotic lattice of tuned wooden keys, vocals and shakers"
maybe i'll bring back repeater soon 👀
